Askari Life Assurance Shareholders Approve Annual Financial Statements and Reappoint Auditors

Karachi, Shareholders of Askari Life Assurance Company Limited convened at their Annual General Meeting on April 24, 2024, and approved several key resolutions, including the adoption of the previous year's annual general meeting minutes, the annual financial statements for 2023, and the reappointment of their external auditors.

During the meeting, shareholders ratified the minutes from the April 27, 2023 AGM, confirming and adopting them as a true reflection of that session. Additionally, the audited financial statements for the year ending December 31, 2023, were approved along with the accompanying Auditors' Report, Directors' Report, and Chairman's review.

In a significant move, the firm reappointed M/S RSM Avais Hyder Liaquat Nauman- Chartered Accountants as the external and Sharjah auditors for 2024. The appointment was made with the remuneration package recommended by the Board of Directors, and they will hold office until the next general meeting.

The AGM also saw the election of several directors to the board for a three-year term. Elected members include Lt Gen Nauman Mahmood (Retd), Mr. Rizwan Ullah Khan, Maj Gen Kamran Ali (Retd), Mr. Malik Ramat Mahmood, Mr. Tariq Hameed, Ayesha Rafique (Female Independent), and Javed Yunus.

In addition, a special resolution was passed allowing the dissemination of annual audited financial statements to members through a QR code and web-link, in line with permissions granted by the Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan. This modern method replaces the older CD/DVD/USB format. The resolution further empowered the Chief Executive or Company Secretary to take necessary actions to implement these changes effectively.
