Lahore: The Board of Directors of Crescent Steel and Allied Products Limited convened on July 31, 2026, to approve the audited financial statements for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026. The company disclosed a final cash dividend of Rs. 3.5 per share, representing a 35% payout, in addition to an interim dividend of Rs. 2.0 per share, or 20%. The financial statements reveal a notable shift in the company’s equity and liabilities, as well as its profitability metrics.
The company’s unconsolidated statement of financial position indicates a decrease in total liabilities from Rs. 7,168.009 million in 2025 to Rs. 2,439.427 million in 2026. This reduction is primarily due to a significant decrease in current liabilities, notably trade and other payables, which saw a decrease from Rs. 4,551.503 million to Rs. 1,281.565 million. On the equity side, the share capital and reserves grew from Rs. 8,751.767 million to Rs. 9,665.992 million.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Crescent Steel’s sales for the year climbed from Rs. 7,459.284 million in 2025 to Rs. 9,354.977 million in 2026, marking a very large or significant increase. However, the net profit for the year experienced a minor move with a decrease to Rs. 1,291.411 million from Rs. 1,343.279 million in the previous year. The decline in net profit can be attributed to a drop in income from investments, which fell from Rs. 1,461.678 million to Rs. 644.346 million.
Despite the decrease in net profit, Crescent Steel reported an increase in gross profit from Rs. 1,597.442 million to Rs. 2,014.024 million and a decrease in finance costs from Rs. 288.329 million to Rs. 160.348 million. The basic and diluted earnings per share marginally decreased to Rs. 16.63 from Rs. 17.30.
The company's total comprehensive income for the year stood at Rs. 1,263.571 million, down from Rs. 1,695.595 million in the previous fiscal year. This decline is largely due to a loss on remeasurement of staff retirement benefit plans, which resulted in a negative other comprehensive income of Rs. 27.840 million, compared to a positive Rs. 352.316 million in 2025.
As part of the dividend distribution process, Crescent Steel announced that shareholders registered by October 21, 2026, will be eligible for the final dividend. The company's share transfer books will be closed from October 22 to October 28, 2026.
