Karachi, The Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) saw slight shifts in its major indices with minor fluctuations across the board on April 25, 2024. The KSE30 index decreased by 58.77 points, a 0.25 percent drop, closing at 23,749.05. The KSE100 index fell by 80.49 points or 0.11 percent to close at 71,971.40. In contrast, the KSE All Share Index barely moved, with a negligible increase of 2.14 points.
The market turnover increased from the previous session, with the regular market trading 798,527,177 shares compared to 599,401,643 shares previously. This increase in activity was reflected in the total traded value for the day, which rose to PKR 27,542,060,653 from PKR 24,459,770,618.
In the ready market, K-Electric Ltd. led with significant activity, closing at PKR 4.64 after opening at PKR 4.28 and seeing a high of PKR 4.71. WorldCall Telecom followed with a closing rate of PKR 1.39 after a high of PKR 1.46. Unity Foods Ltd. also saw considerable trading, closing higher at PKR 24.91 from an opening rate of PKR 24.78.
Notably, Hallmark Company Limited showed a remarkable increase in its rate, closing at PKR 1,072.52, up by PKR 74.31. On the downside, Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited experienced a significant drop, decreasing by PKR 372.99 to close at PKR 20,255.00. Other notable declines included Mari Petroleum Company Limited and Sapphire Textile Mills Limited, which closed lower at PKR 2,829.10 and PKR 1,186.03, respectively.
