Meezan Pakistan ETF Marks Growth in Net Assets and NAV in August

Karachi: The Meezan Pakistan Exchange Traded Fund (MP-ETF) witnessed a notable increase in its net assets and net asset value (NAV) in August 2024, signaling a positive shift in investor confidence and market dynamics. As of August 30, 2024, the fund's net assets stood at Rs. 0.13 billion, while the NAV per unit rose by 1.39% over the month.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the MP-ETF, which is Shariah-compliant and tracks the Meezan Pakistan Index, has shown resilience and growth amidst varying market conditions. The fund's emphasis on high market capitalization and traded value equity securities selected by Al Meezan has contributed to its robust performance.

In terms of asset allocation, the MP-ETF has increased its equity holdings from 96.99% in July 2024 to 97.28% in August 2024, reducing its cash holdings correspondingly. This adjustment reflects a strategic approach to maximize returns on equity while maintaining liquidity as required.

The management of the fund, led by Ali Hassan Khan, CFA, FRM, and a team of seasoned professionals, has maintained a consistent investment policy focused on selected liquid stocks from the KMI-30 index.
