Karachi: EcoPack Limited has navigated a tumultuous financial year marked by global economic challenges to post the highest profit after tax in its history, according to a review report by the company's chairman. The report was discussed during the annual shareholder's meeting on September 27, 2024.
The company faced numerous challenges, including heightened geopolitical tensions and the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, which exacerbated logistical issues and led to soaring commodity prices, particularly crude oil. Despite these hurdles, EcoPack's management effectively reversed the losses accrued in the first three-quarters of the year.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the company's turnaround was notably marked by robust adherence to management SOPs and good governance practices, which have been a staple under the current leadership. This adherence not only stabilized the company but also positioned it for a record-breaking profit announcement.
Further buoying the company's prospects was the successful resolution of a civil suit filed in 2022 by the incumbent CEO against EcoPack and other parties, which was withdrawn in September 2024, indicating a stabilization of internal corporate affairs.
EcoPack's chairman, Asad Ali Sheikh, in his report, praised the management's efforts to navigate the company through these challenges and commended their role in achieving significant financial milestones. The board's strategic decisions during this period have been crucial in steering the company back to profitability.
The company continues to thrive by prioritizing transparency and rigorous corporate governance, aligning with its long-term objectives to remain a leading innovator in its sector and drive sustainable growth.
