Dawood Equities Limited Announces Annual General Meeting

Karachi: Dawood Equities Limited (DEL) has scheduled its 19th Annual General Meeting (AGM) for October 25, 2024, at Karachi, as detailed in an announcement published in "The Nation" newspaper on October 4, 2024. The meeting is set to discuss annual financial statements and the re-election of retiring directors among other agenda items.

The AGM aims to confirm the minutes of the last meeting held on October 26, 2023, and to address the annual financial statements of the company for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2024. According to the agenda published, the meeting will also involve discussions on the appointment of auditors for the ensuing year and the remuneration for these auditors.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the notice also included directives regarding the closure of share transfer books from October 19, 2024, to October 25, 2024, a measure standard before AGMs to facilitate the proper arrangement of shareholder participation. Shareholders wishing to attend the AGM via video conferencing are required to register 48 hours before the meeting, providing necessary details including CNIC or NTN numbers, Folio numbers, and email addresses.

In addition to financial discussions, the reappointment of the Board of Directors will be a key item on the agenda. The directors up for re-election include Abdul Aziz Habib, Junaid Daada, and Arshad Shujaat among others.

The company emphasized the importance of shareholder participation in the decision-making process, underlining the provision of video conferencing to accommodate shareholders unable to attend in person. All participating members must comply with the regulatory standards set forth by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan.
