Lahore: LalPir Power Limited has announced an urgent board meeting scheduled for October 9, 2024, at Lahore. The meeting aims to discuss potential early termination of key agreements, including the company's Implementation Agreement and Power Purchase Agreement with the government of Pakistan and various independent power producers (IPPs).
The convened board will deliberate on the terms proposed for the early discontinuation of these agreements in light of ongoing discussions between the company, government entities, and certain IPPs. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), this step reflects the critical nature of the negotiations and their possible impact on the company's operations and strategic direction.
In compliance with PSX regulations, LalPir Power has also initiated a "Closed Period" from October 8, 2024, to October 9, 2024. During this period, directors, CEOs, and other executives are prohibited from dealing in the company’s shares.
The company has instructed that the TRE Certificate Holders of the Exchange be informed accordingly, ensuring regulatory compliance and maintaining market transparency during this pivotal time.
