Lahore: Kohinoor Textile Mills Limited has introduced a new procedure for electronic and postal voting for its shareholders, set to be implemented in the upcoming Annual General Meeting on October 28, 2024. This initiative aims to facilitate greater shareholder participation in the governance of the company, especially for those unable to attend in person.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), these procedures comply with the latest Companies (Postal Ballot) Regulations, 2018, ensuring a more inclusive and accessible voting process. The notice, issued on October 17, 2024, outlines that the electronic voting system will be accessible from October 24 to October 27, allowing shareholders ample time to cast their votes securely.
The detailed procedures specify that electronic voting details will be shared via email, while login credentials for accessing the voting system will be distributed through SMS. Additionally, for those preferring traditional methods, postal ballots must be submitted along with a copy of the voter's National Identity Card, ensuring verification and security of the voting process.
This proactive approach also includes the appointment of Messrs. Junaidy Shoaib Asad, Chartered Accountants, as the scrutineer to oversee the voting process. Their role will ensure that all votes are cast in accordance with the regulatory requirements and are properly accounted for in the final tally.
