Karachi: In a recent financial update, ZIL Limited disclosed its earnings for the third quarter ending September 30, 2024, showcasing substantial profit growth compared to the previous year.
The company reported net sales amounting to Rs. 4,709.22 million for the nine-month period ended September 30, 2024, indicating a moderate increase from Rs. 4,194.14 million in the corresponding period of 2023. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the increase in gross profit from Rs. 1,230.86 million in 2023 to Rs. 1,313.60 million in 2024 reflects ZIL Limited's effective cost management strategies and enhanced operational efficiency.
The financial statements revealed a significant decrease in administrative expenses from Rs. 227.31 million in 2023 to Rs. 295.48 million in 2024, while selling and distribution expenses also saw a reduction. Despite these increases, the overall profit after tax showed a marked improvement, closing at Rs. 10.27 million, up from Rs. 226.80 million in the prior year, demonstrating a strong recovery and financial resilience.
Other income for the company slightly increased, contributing Rs. 157.66 million to the bottom line. However, financial charges also rose to Rs. 88.99 million, reflecting the broader economic context of increased borrowing costs.
