Karachi: Adamjee Insurance Company Limited demonstrated notable financial performance in the first nine months of 2024, as detailed in their latest unconsolidated and consolidated financial statements.
For the period ending September 30, 2024, Adamjee Insurance reported a pre-tax profit of 4.93 billion rupees, up from 3.28 billion rupees during the same period in 2023, marking a substantial improvement in profitability. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the company's profit after tax also rose significantly to 2.98 billion rupees from 1.87 billion rupees in the previous year. This performance translated into earnings per share of 8.53 rupees, an increase from 5.34 rupees per share in 2023.
The firm's unconsolidated net insurance premium reached 19.06 billion rupees, compared to 14.38 billion rupees in 2023, while its net insurance claims were 12.31 billion rupees, up from 10.05 billion rupees last year. The increase in claims was offset by higher premiums and effective cost management.
On a consolidated basis, Adamjee Insurance's financial health appeared even stronger. The company's consolidated net insurance premium totaled 38.03 billion rupees, an increase from 31.21 billion rupees in the previous year. After accounting for insurance claims and expenses, the company reported a consolidated pre-tax profit of 6.21 billion rupees, compared to 3.93 billion rupees in 2023. Post-tax profits for the consolidated accounts stood at 3.56 billion rupees, up from 2.17 billion rupees the previous year.
