Next Capital Limited Issues Corrigendum for AGM Resolution

Karachi: Next Capital Limited has issued a corrigendum regarding its upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM) scheduled for October 15, 2024. The correction pertains to a resolution previously labeled as 'special' now being clarified as 'ordinary.'

The company, via a notice sent to the Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited on October 24, 2024, informed shareholders and the general public of the amendment in the wording of the resolution that was initially published in Daily Nai Baat Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad, as well as Daily Pakistan Observer Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the change reflects a reclassification of the resolution's nature, aligning with regulatory and corporate governance standards.

Muhammad Rizwan Yousuf, Company Secretary of Next Capital Limited, signed the corrigendum, which serves to rectify the notice published on October 4, 2024. The error, likely due to an administrative oversight, required this prompt correction to ensure transparency and proper guidance for shareholder voting processes.

The correction specifies that the resolution, which may have been previously considered for special voting procedures, should be treated as an ordinary resolution. This classification influences the voting threshold needed for approval and potentially the implications for corporate actions following the AGM.

This adjustment comes as part of the company’s efforts to ensure all procedural details are clear and accurately presented to its shareholders, who are expected to gather next month to deliberate and vote on various agenda items.
