Hum Network Reports Strong Performance and Strategic Media Rights Acquisitions

Karachi: Hum Network Limited has reported a strong financial performance for the year 2024. The company recorded a net revenue of PKR 8.31 billion, marking a significant increase from the previous year's PKR 6.83 billion. This growth is attributed to robust earnings across various revenue streams, with net profit after taxation also rising to PKR 2.61 billion compared to PKR 2.15 billion in 2023.

In 2024, the advertising revenue constituted 64% of the total, followed by production, digital revenues, subscription income, and other miscellaneous sources contributing 3%, 1.92%, 26%, and 5% respectively. These figures underscore the diversified yet potent revenue generation capabilities of Hum Network.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Hum Network continues to expand its influence in the sports broadcasting sector, particularly through its ownership of Ten Sports. The channel has secured several critical contracts extending its media rights. Notable among these are a two-year coverage contract for ICC events including the Champions Trophy 2025, a 2.5-year deal with the Pakistan Cricket Board for bi-lateral home series, and a seven-year agreement for Cricket Australia's television rights. Additionally, it holds media rights for three years with Cricket Ireland and various football events including FIFA and UEFA competitions, alongside coverage for UFC, WWE, and Esports.

These strategic acquisitions are pivotal for Hum Network as they ensure continued audience engagement and revenue generation from high-stake international sporting events, reinforcing its market position as a leading broadcaster in the competitive media landscape.
