Fire Incident Disrupts Operations at Pakistan International Bulk Terminal

Karachi: Pakistan International Bulk Terminal Limited (PIBT) has reported a fire incident that occurred on November 19, 2024, at its terminal while a cargo of coal was being discharged. The event has resulted in significant damage to a portion of the terminal infrastructure, impacting the company's operations.

The cause of the fire was beyond the control of PIBT and has adversely affected part of the terminal, leading to temporary challenges in fulfilling its obligations. Despite the incident, the terminal's operations have continued with alternate arrangements made to discharge cargo. However, there may be delays in the discharge process for customers.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the company's efforts are focused on managing the smooth discharge of cargo. PIBT is optimistic that its terminal operations will return to normal by December 2024.

The company communicated this information to inform members of the exchange in accordance with the requirements of the Rule Book of Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited and the applicable provisions of the Securities Act, 2015.
