Mughal Energy Limited Announces Leadership Appointments and Board Reconstitution


Lahore: Mughal Energy Limited has officially announced significant changes in its leadership and board committee structure following a meeting held on January 07, 2025. The Board of Directors has made pivotal appointments and reconfigurations to ensure continued strategic leadership and governance.



In a decisive move, Mirza Javed Iqbal has been re-appointed as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for a subsequent term of three years. His reappointment signals a continued commitment to stable governance and strategic oversight at the helm of the company. Alongside him, Mr. Khurram Javaid has been re-appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company, also for a term of three years, reinforcing confidence in his leadership capabilities to steer the company forward.



These appointments come amid a reconstitution of the board’s committees aimed at enhancing the company’s governance framework. The Audit Committee and the Human Resource and Remuneration (HRandR) Committee have been restructured to include experienced and capable members. The Audit Committee is now led by Mr. Muhammad Aslam Bhatti as Chairman, who is an Independent Director. The committee also includes Mr. Mirza Javed Iqbal, serving as a Non-Executive Director, and Mr. Muhammad Mateen Jamshed, also a Non-Executive Director. This reconstitution is mirrored in the HRandR Committee, chaired by Mr. Bhatti and comprising the same members as the Audit Committee.



According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), these strategic changes are part of Mughal Energy Limited’s ongoing efforts to bolster its market position within the energy sector.
