Karachi: In a significant update to market operations, the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has announced a revised trading and settlement schedule for deliverable future contracts (DFC) concerning Attock Refinery Limited (ATRL) and Pakistan Oilfields Limited (POL). This adjustment comes in response to the announced book closure dates for these companies. The changes affect the DFCs for February 2025 and March 2025, previously notified under PSX/N-1144 dated 29th November 2024 and PSX/N-1272 dated 27th December 2024.
For the companies mentioned, the trading and settlement schedule on a cum-benefit basis is outlined as follows: The February contract opened on 2nd December 2024, a Monday, will close on 31st January 2025, a Friday, with settlement scheduled for 4th February 2025, a Tuesday. Similarly, the March contract also opened on 30th December 2024, a Monday, will close on 31st January 2025, a Friday, with settlement slated for 4th February 2025, a Tuesday.
Additionally, the trading and settlement schedule without entitlement of benefit is detailed for the FEBB and MARB contracts. The FEBB contract will open on 28th January 2025, a Tuesday, close on 28th February 2025, a Friday, with settlement on 4th March 2025, a Tuesday. The MARB contract will similarly open on 28th January 2025, a Tuesday, close on 27th March 2025, a Thursday, with settlement on 3rd April 2025, a Thursday.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), these adjustments are crucial to accommodate the book closure dates and ensure smooth trading operations. PSX retains the right to modify the dates or adjust the duration of contracts should any necessity arise. It is important to note that trades occurring in the shares of the aforementioned securities under the FEBB and MARB contracts will be ineligible for entitlement, as they will be conducted on an ex-benefit basis.
The overlapping period for these securities spans four trading days, from 28th January 2025 to 31st January 2025. Participants in the market are advised to take note of these dates to ensure compliance and strategic alignment with the revised schedule.
