Karachi: Shahmurad Sugar Mills Limited has revealed its production data for both sugar and ethanol divisions during a corporate briefing session held on February 21, 2025. The session, which follows previous communications, provided comprehensive insights into the company’s performance over the past five years.

According to the latest figures, the sugar division of Shahmurad Sugar Mills has seen a notable increase in production. In 2024, the company crushed 654,604 metric tons of sugarcane, resulting in the production of 71,905 metric tons of sugar. This represents a significant rise from the previous year’s production of 60,303 metric tons. The recovery percentage, however, slightly decreased to 10.98% from 11.08% in 2022.

The ethanol division also demonstrated a change in production levels. In 2024, the company produced 59,967 metric tons of ethanol, a decrease from the 69,738 metric tons produced in 2023. Despite this decrease, the ethanol production in 2024 remained higher than the levels recorded in 2020 and 2021.
