Karachi: Shifa International Hospitals Limited has announced the loss of two share certificates, each covering ten shares, reported by two of its shareholders. The certificates, totaling twenty shares, belonged to Mrs. Shaista Yameen Satti and Mr. Muhammad Javed Khan, as per the official communication from the hospital's client repository.
On October 15, 2023, it was disclosed that Mrs. Shaista Yameen Satti and Mr. Muhammad Javed Khan are the affected shareholders. Mrs. Satti's shares are listed under folio number 2226, with certificate number 508875, and cover distinctive numbers 62151872 to 62151881. Mr. Khan's shares are recorded under folio number 2227, with certificate number 508876, spanning distinctive numbers 62151882 to 62151891. Each of them holds ten shares, bringing the total to twenty shares that have been reported as lost.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), if no claim is made against these shares, the company will proceed to issue duplicate certificates. This is in line with the standard procedure of providing a seven-day notice period from the date of the circular, allowing any claims to be made before reissuing the certificates.
The hospital, listed under the healthcare sector in the designated market category, has initiated this process by receiving indemnities from the shareholders in question. The situation underscores the importance of maintaining accurate and secure records for shareholding transactions, ensuring that such incidents are managed efficiently and transparently.
The official update serves as a reminder for all stakeholders involved to respond promptly if any discrepancies or claims arise, to prevent any unauthorized issuance of new share certificates.
