JS Investments Limited Approves Interim Financial Statements Amid Significant Net Asset Increase

Karachi: JS Investments Limited, a prominent management company, announced the approval of its condensed interim financial statements for several collective investment schemes during a board meeting held on February 25, 2025. The financial statements, which remain unaudited, cover the half-year period ending December 31, 2024.

The board of directors met in Karachi, where they reviewed the financial performance of investment funds under the company's management. Among the funds approved in the meeting were the Unit Trust of Pakistan, JS Growth Fund, JS Islamic Fund, and JS Fund of Funds, among others.

The financial statements revealed a net income of 1.72 billion rupees for the period before taxation, marking a decrease from the 2.55 billion rupees recorded in the same period the previous year. Adjustments to net realized and unrealized gains and losses resulted in a revised net figure of 1.60 billion rupees compared to 2.74 billion rupees last year.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the company saw a substantial increase in investments, which rose to 2.66 billion rupees from 8.13 billion rupees in the previous period. Additionally, the net cash generated from operating activities amounted to 4.39 billion rupees, a notable improvement from the negative cash flow of 6.11 billion rupees reported in the prior year.

The financing activities section of the cash flow statement highlighted receipts from the issuance of units totaling 21.83 billion rupees. However, payments on redemption of units amounted to 23.83 billion rupees, resulting in a net cash outflow of 2.00 billion rupees from these activities.

The statement of assets and liabilities as of December 31, 2024, showed total assets valued at 9.17 billion rupees, an increase from 6.11 billion rupees as of June 30, 2024. Liabilities also increased slightly to 47.51 million rupees from 4.38 million rupees. Consequently, the net assets stood at 9.12 billion rupees, up from 6.11 billion rupees.

The number of units in issue rose to 79.27 million, with the net asset value per unit calculated at 115.10 rupees, compared to 109.06 rupees in the previous financial period.
