Revised Trading Schedule Announced for Specific Deliverable Future Contracts Due to Book Closure


Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) announced a revised trading and settlement schedule for the Deliverable Future Contracts (DFC) of April 2025 and May 2025 due to the book closure dates of Fatima Fertilizer Company Limited and Frieslandcampina Engro Pakistan Limited. The changes were communicated in reference to prior notifications PSX/N-140 dated January 31, 2025, and PSX/N-227 dated February 28, 2025.



For the specified companies, the trading and settlement schedule on a cum-benefit basis will proceed as follows: The April contract commenced on February 3, 2025, a Monday, and will close on March 27, 2025, a Thursday, with settlement on April 4, 2025, a Friday. The May contract began on March 3, 2025, a Monday, and will also close on March 27, 2025, with settlement on April 4, 2025.



In contrast, the trading and settlement schedule without the entitlement of benefits is set as follows: The April B contract will open on March 24, 2025, a Monday, closing on April 25, 2025, a Friday, with settlement on April 29, 2025, a Tuesday. Meanwhile, the May B contract will also start on March 24, 2025, closing on May 30, 2025, a Friday, with settlement on June 3, 2025, a Tuesday.



According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the trades occurring in the shares of the above-mentioned securities within the APRB and MAYB contracts will not be eligible for entitlements and will be conducted on an ex-benefit basis. The overlapping period for these securities will occur over four trading days, from March 24, 2025, to March 27, 2025.



The PSX reserves the right to adjust these dates or modify the contracts as necessary. Market participants have been advised to take note of these changes to align their trading strategies accordingly.
