Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has announced the continued suspension of trading in the shares of M/s. Security Leasing Corporation Limited due to ongoing non-compliance with its regulations. This decision follows the initial notice, PSX/N-113, issued on January 24, 2025.
The suspension is a result of several unresolved issues, including the cessation of commercial production and business operations in the company's principal line of business. Additionally, the company has received an adverse opinion in its audit report, and its leasing license has been canceled by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP). Furthermore, the SECP has ordered the initiation of winding-up proceedings against the company.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), trading in Security Leasing Corporation Limited's shares will remain suspended until the identified causes are rectified. Alternatively, the suspension will continue for another 60 days, effective from March 26, 2025, should the issues remain unresolved.
The decision to extend the suspension period is in accordance with the powers granted to the PSX under Sub-Section (7) of Section 19 of the Securities Act, 2015, as well as PSX Regulations 5.11. The designated market category affected by this decision highlights the importance of regulatory compliance for maintaining market integrity.
