Revised Trading and Settlement Schedule Announced by Pakistan Stock Exchange

Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has released a revised trading and settlement schedule for Deliverable Future Contracts (DFC) in response to the book closure dates announced by several companies. This change affects contracts for April, May, and June 2025, as initially communicated through PSX notifications dated January 31, February 28, and March 27, 2025.

The companies involved in the revised schedule are Adamjee Insurance Company Limited (AICL), GlaxoSmithKline Pakistan Limited (GLAXO), Pakistan Reinsurance Company Limited (PAKRI), and Systems Limited (SYS). For these companies, the trading and settlement schedule on a cum-benefit basis is as follows: the April contract opened on February 3, 2025, and will close on April 16, 2025, with settlement on April 18, 2025. The May contract also opened on March 3, 2025, closing on the same date as the April contract, with settlement aligned to April 18, 2025. The June contract began on April 3, 2025, and follows the same closing and settlement timeline.

For Wafi Energy Pakistan Limited (WAFI), the cum-benefit trading and settlement schedule mirrors the April contract of the other companies, opening on February 3, 2025, and closing on April 16, 2025, with settlement on April 18, 2025.

The ex-benefit trading and settlement schedule introduces a different timeline. For AICL, GLAXO, PAKRI, SYS, and WAFI, the April ex-benefit contract opens on April 14, 2025, concluding on April 25, 2025, with settlement on April 29, 2025. The ex-benefit May contract opens on April 14, 2025, closing on May 30, 2025, with settlement on June 3, 2025. The June ex-benefit contract opens on April 14, 2025, closing on June 27, 2025, with settlement on July 2, 2025.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the overlapping period for these securities will occur between April 14 and April 16, 2025, lasting three trading days. During this time, trades in the shares of the aforementioned securities will not be eligible for entitlements and will be executed on an ex-benefit basis.
