Engro Holdings Limited Joins NIT Pakistan Gateway Index as Systems Limited Exits

Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited has announced a re-composition of the NIT Pakistan Gateway Index (NITPGI) as of March 27, 2025. This adjustment will see Engro Holdings Limited joining the index, replacing Systems Limited. The changes are set to take effect from April 23, 2025.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the re-composition exercise has resulted in an updated list of constituent companies along with their respective weights. Fauji Fertilizer Company Limited holds the highest weight in the index at 15.47%. It is followed by United Bank Limited with a weight of 9.86% and the newly included Engro Holdings Limited at 8.91%.

Other notable companies in the NITPGI include Mari Energies Limited with a weight of 8.05%, Oil & Gas Development Company Limited at 7.36%, and The Hub Power Company Limited at 6.97%. Lucky Cement Limited and Pakistan Petroleum Limited are also part of the index with weights of 6.44% and 6.27%, respectively.

Engro Fertilizers Limited has been assigned a weight of 6.11%, while MCB Bank Limited holds 5.70%. Meezan Bank Limited and Bank AL Habib Limited have comparable weights of 5.44% and 5.42%, respectively. Habib Bank Limited, Pakistan Oilfields Limited are also included with weights of 4.39% and 3.61%.

The changes in the NITPGI reflect the ongoing adjustments in the market and the designated market category, ensuring the index remains representative of the current economic landscape.
