Pakistan Stock Exchange Alters Trading Schedule for Deliverable Future Contracts

Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has announced a revised trading and settlement schedule for deliverable future contracts (DFC) in response to the book closure dates of several prominent companies. This adjustment affects DFC-OCT-2025, DFC-NOV-25, and DFC-DEC-2025, as initially outlined in several notifications issued earlier this year.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), MCB Bank Limited, Airlink Communication Limited, Habib Bank Limited, Bank Al Habib Limited, Bank Alfalah Limited, Faysal Bank Limited, Fauji Fertilizer Company Limited, and Meezan Bank Limited are among the companies impacted by the changes. These alterations are necessary to accommodate the book closure dates that have been announced by these companies.

For MCB Bank Limited, the trading and settlement schedule has been adjusted such that the last trading day for the MCB-OCTB contract is now October 29, 2025, as opposed to the previously scheduled October 31, 2025.

Similarly, Airlink Communication Limited will experience a change in the last trading day for the AIRLINK-OCTB contract, now set for October 29, 2025, diverging from the original October 31, 2025 date.

Habib Bank Limited and Bank Al Habib Limited will also see their OCTB contracts close on October 29, 2025, instead of October 31, 2025, in accordance with the newly announced book closure dates.

For Bank Alfalah Limited, Faysal Bank Limited, Fauji Fertilizer Company Limited, and Meezan Bank Limited, the trading schedules for NOV and DEC contracts remain largely unchanged, with the exception of their ex-benefit trading status during certain overlapping periods.

During the overlapping periods, trades in these companies' shares within specified contracts will not be eligible for entitlements and will be conducted on an ex-benefit basis. Specifically, the overlapping periods for the companies listed in tables (i) through (iv) are slated for three trading days, from October 27, 2025, to October 29, 2025. For the companies listed in table (v), the overlapping period extends to five trading days, from October 27, 2025, to October 31, 2025.

The PSX reserves the right to modify or extend these contract dates if necessary, ensuring flexibility in response to market conditions and company-specific requirements.
