Karachi: The Board of Directors of Al-Zamin Modaraba Management (Private) Limited has released the financial statements for Trust Modaraba for the period ending March 31, 2025. The report highlights a notable 39% increase in gross income from business operations, amounting to Rs.57.00 million, compared to the previous period. This growth reflects strategic financial resource utilization and selective client engagement to mitigate repayment delays.
Pakistan's economic outlook for FY 2025 appears positive, driven by strengthened economic fundamentals. Effective macro-economic management, inflation control, and fiscal and external account stability have contributed to this favorable outlook. The external sector witnessed improved remittance inflows and robust export performance, significantly enhancing the current account balance. Furthermore, effective monetary policy measures have alleviated inflationary pressures, creating a stable macro-economic environment conducive to private sector investment and expansion.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the equity market showed strong performance, with the index surpassing 113,000 points during the period. This positive market trend contributed to capital gains and dividend income, accounting for 9% of Trust Modaraba's gross revenue. The stock market's appreciation resulted in an unrealized gain of Rs.3.12 million. Nonetheless, management enhanced provision coverage to Rs.1.10 million against certain accounts as part of a prudent risk management strategy.
Despite inflationary pressures impacting costs, operating expenses remained within the budget. Profit before management fees reached Rs.23.70 million, up from Rs.21.90 million in the previous period. The management company earned a fee of Rs.2.37 million for the period ending March 31, 2025. Profit after tax was reported at Rs.17.77 million, elevating earnings per certificate to Rs.0.60 from Rs.0.54 in the previous period. The asset base of Trust Modaraba stood at Rs.401 million as of March 31, 2025.
Challenges such as geopolitical uncertainties, global inflationary trends, and potential rises in oil prices pose risks to sustained growth. However, Trust Modaraba is committed to maintaining growth momentum through sound business practices and aims to continue progressing in operations and profitability. The Board of Directors expressed appreciation for the continued support from the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), certificate holders, board members, and staff in achieving these positive results.
