Karachi: Unity Foods Limited has announced its financial results for the quarter ended March 31, 2025, revealing a period marked by stability in its financial structure, as no dividends, bonuses, or rights shares were declared. The announcement was made following a Board of Directors meeting held on April 28, 2025, at the company's head office in Karachi.
The balance sheet of Unity Foods Limited displays a slight decrease in non-current assets, totaling 18.08 billion rupees, compared to 18.18 billion rupees on June 30, 2024. This decline primarily results from reduced values in property, plant, and equipment, alongside intangible assets. However, long-term investments remained stable at 7.83 billion rupees.
Current assets witnessed a notable increase, climbing to 67.15 billion rupees from 60.65 billion rupees in the previous year. This growth was driven by a significant rise in stock-in-trade, which reached 18.65 billion rupees, and short-term investments, which increased to 11.28 billion rupees. Cash and bank balances also saw a substantial rise to 6.59 billion rupees from 5.12 billion rupees.
The total assets amounted to 85.22 billion rupees, reflecting an upward trend from 78.82 billion rupees as of June 30, 2024. On the liabilities side, current liabilities increased to 66.07 billion rupees, up from 60.27 billion rupees, largely due to a rise in trade and other payables, which stood at 30.30 billion rupees.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the equity and liabilities of the company were balanced, with total equity reaching 18.56 billion rupees, an improvement from 17.86 billion rupees. This was attributed to an increase in revenue reserves, which rose to 3.22 billion rupees.
Unity Foods Limited maintained its issued, subscribed, and paid-up capital at 11.94 billion rupees, and the capital reserve remained unchanged at 3.40 billion rupees. The non-current liabilities decreased slightly to 594.06 million rupees, indicating a reduction in deferred income and the absence of lease liabilities, which were present in the previous year.
The financial results for the quarter underline Unity Foods Limited's steady financial position, despite the absence of cash dividends or other corporate actions. The company's quarterly report will be transmitted through the Pakistan Unified Corporate Action Reporting System (PUCARS) as scheduled.
