Karachi: Leiner Pak Gelatine Limited, amidst a challenging economic environment, has reported a significant decline in sales for the nine-month period ending March 31, 2025. According to financial statements released by the company, sales were recorded at Rs.1,028.323 million, marking a substantial drop from Rs.2,673.915 million reported in the same period the previous year.
The decline in sales has been attributed primarily to a slowdown in gelatine exports, compounded by a significant reduction in domestic gelatine prices. The contraction in export sales is a result of a widespread economic downturn impacting several international markets simultaneously. Additionally, foreign buyers have been adjusting their raw material inventory levels, a process initiated prior to the pandemic, further contributing to the decrease in export activities.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the subdued business activity on both domestic and international fronts has affected the sales and overall financial performance of the company. Despite these challenges, Leiner Pak Gelatine Limited managed to achieve a profit after tax of Rs.11.776 million during the period under review.
Looking ahead, the company anticipates a revival in its regular export business once foreign buyers reach their adjusted inventory levels. The management remains hopeful that this will restore momentum to their export activities in the coming months.
The company also expressed its appreciation for the dedicated efforts of its employees and business partners who continue to contribute to strengthening the company during these challenging times.
