Zarea Limited Enters Exclusive Fertilizer Distribution Agreement with Azeems Group

Karachi: Zarea Limited has announced a significant development in its business strategy with the signing of an exclusive fertilizer distribution agreement with Azeems Group. This announcement, made on October 12, 2023, is in compliance with section 96 of the Securities Act, 2015 and Clause 5.6.1(a) of the Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited Regulation.

Under the terms of the agreement, Zarea Limited will become the exclusive digital commerce partner for the entire product portfolio of Azeems Group in Pakistan. This includes sole distribution rights in the strategic Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) region, known for its high fertilizer usage and demand for advanced agricultural products.

Azeems Group serves as the sole representative in Pakistan for Nutrien AgSolutions, which markets specialty fertilizers for Nutrien (Canada), and Anglo American Crop Nutrients, a subsidiary of Anglo-American UK. These associations bring advanced international technologies and a strong research portfolio to Zarea’s platform.

The agreement marks Zarea's strategic entry into Pakistan's high-margin agricultural inputs sector. This move positions the company as a leading distributor of innovative fertilizers, bio-stimulants, and soil conditioners. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Zarea's new role is expected to accelerate the company’s growth, enhance margins, and drive long-term shareholder value.

Key products in the agreement include the Mukammal Evolution series, which enhances phosphate efficiency and nitrogen retention, and Polyhalite blends, designed for sandy soils and long-duration crops. These products are federally registered and have undergone rigorous testing across major Pakistani crops.

Zarea plans to leverage its digital platform and supply chain infrastructure to distribute these products through a data-driven sales model. This digitally-enabled rollout is supported by research collaborations with leading agricultural institutes and large commercial farms, including major sugar groups.

This strategic initiative is an essential part of Zarea's broader plan to expand its footprint in the agricultural sector, underscoring its commitment to providing innovative and scientifically validated solutions to meet the growing needs of Pakistani farmers.
