Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan to Host Consultation on Waqf Framework

Karachi: The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), in collaboration with the Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited (PSX) and IBA Center for Excellence in Islamic Finance (IBA-CEIF), has announced a public consultation session set to take place on May 13, 2025. This session aims to propose a regulatory framework for the revitalization of the institution of Waqf in Pakistan.

The session will be held at the PSX Auditorium on the 3rd floor from 15:00 to 17:00. It is designed to engage a broad range of stakeholders, including financial sector professionals, representatives from Waqf and other charitable institutions, Shariah scholars, corporate CSR fund managers, and development sector professionals. The focus will be on gathering valuable feedback to strengthen the role of Waqf institutions in Pakistan's economic and social development.
