Karachi: Mahmood Textile Mills Limited has announced a significant corporate restructuring with the approval of a demerger that will separate its Apparel Unit from the main company. The decision was made during a board meeting held on May 21, 2025.

The board of directors of Mahmood Textile Mills Limited has sanctioned the demerger in compliance with Section 96 of the Securities Act, 2015, and Clause 5.6.1 (a) (ii) of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) Regulations. According to the company's announcement, the scheme of arrangement under Sections 279 to 283 and 285 has received the green light.

The separation aims to streamline operations and allow for more focused management of the distinct business units. The restructuring is expected to be communicated to the TRE Certificate Holders of the Exchange.
