Nowshera: Cherat Cement Company Limited has announced the commissioning of a 2.935 megawatt (MW) solar power plant at its factory site in Nowshera, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. This development, which was completed on June 11, 2025, is part of a larger project targeting approximately 9 MW in total capacity.
The company had previously communicated about this initiative in a letter dated April 4, 2025. With the addition of this new solar power plant, Cherat Cement's total captive solar power generation capacity has now reached approximately 23 MW.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the commissioning marks a significant step in Cherat Cement's efforts to enhance its energy portfolio. The PSX has been requested to disseminate this information to the TRE Certificate Holders, ensuring all relevant parties are informed of the development.
This new capacity is expected to support the company's operations at the Nowshera site, contributing to more sustainable energy usage and potentially reducing reliance on non-renewable energy sources. Cherat Cement's expansion in solar power generation reflects a broader trend in the industry towards renewable energy solutions.
