Trading Suspension of Ansari Sugar Mills Limited to Continue Amid Regulatory Compliance Efforts

Karachi: The trading suspension of Ansari Sugar Mills Limited will continue for another 60-day period starting July 1, 2025, due to ongoing regulatory compliance issues. The decision follows a previous notice, PSX/N-443, dated April 30, 2025, issued by the Pakistan Stock Exchange.

The suspension, attributed to the company's failure to hold its Annual General Meetings and submit Annual Audited Financial Statements, was initially enacted in accordance with PSX Regulations 5.11.1.(b) and (c). Ansari Sugar Mills Limited has since convened its overdue AGMs and submitted its financial statements as it works towards meeting the necessary regulatory requirements for the resumption of trading.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the company is actively addressing the outstanding issues. However, trading in the company's shares will remain suspended until all conditions for trading restoration are fulfilled or until the new 60-day period concludes.

The decision to extend the suspension period is in line with the powers granted to the Exchange under Sub-Section (7) of Section 19 of the Securities Act, 2015, and clause 5.11 of PSX Regulations. The market category affected by this decision remains under scrutiny as the company progresses towards compliance.
