Karachi: In a significant update for investors and market participants, the National Clearing Company of Pakistan Limited (NCCPL) has announced its quarterly review of securities eligible for the Margin Trading System (MTS) and MT (R) transaction margins. Effective Wednesday, July 30, 2025, several changes have been made to the list of eligible securities, as per the NCCPL Regulations 2015.
The review, conducted under clauses 7C.3.2.d and 7C.3.2.e of the NCCPL regulations, has resulted in the retention of 60 securities for a contract length of 60 days. Among these retained securities, the review has identified new additions, including Citi Pharma Limited, Dolmen City REIT, and Fauji Foods Limited, which have been included in the list for the upcoming cycle. Ghani Glass Limited has been assigned a 30-day contract length, distinguishing it from others.
Meanwhile, Engro Polymer & Chemicals Limited will be excluded from MTS eligibility starting August 15, 2025, due to its inability to meet the required 22nd percentile benchmark criteria, even after applying relaxation measures. This exclusion highlights the dynamic nature of criteria compliance within the stock market framework.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), a number of securities have been retained due to applicable relaxation measures. Avanceon Limited and International Industries Limited, for instance, have been granted relaxation counts of two, while several others, including Flying Cement Company Limited and Hum Network Limited, have each received a relaxation count of one.
This quarterly review is crucial for investors and stakeholders in the designated market category, as it impacts decision-making and strategic planning. The update reflects the current state of the market and aims to ensure a balanced and fair trading environment.
As the market adapts to these changes, stakeholders are expected to closely monitor the performance and eligibility of securities in the coming months to align their investments with the evolving landscape of the Pakistan Stock Exchange.
