Karachi: The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has withdrawn its winding-up petition against Standard Worldwide Limited, according to a certified copy of a recent order from the High Court of Sindh in Karachi. The decision, dated July 21, 2025, was made following the fulfillment of statutory requirements by the company.
In the proceedings identified as JCM No. 11 of 2024, the court reviewed two applications, CMA No. 3332 and CMA No. 333 of 2025. The urgency of the matter was acknowledged, and permission was granted for the petitioner to withdraw the petition. The SECP had initially filed the petition due to the company's failure to submit required statutory returns. However, these obligations have now been met, leading to the dismissal of the petition.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Standard Worldwide Limited operates within the designated market category of diversified financials. The withdrawal of the petition is expected to have implications for the company’s standing in the financial market, though the exact effect remains to be seen.
The legal representation for the SECP was undertaken by M/s. Syed Imran Ali Shamsi and Syed Ebad-ur-Rehman, who were present during the court proceedings. The resolution of this matter may influence investor confidence and the company's future market activities.
