Standard Insurance Company Limited Renamed to Standard Worldwide Limited

Karachi: Standard Insurance Company Limited has officially changed its name to Standard Worldwide Limited, following approval from the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP). The change comes as part of the company's strategic decision to discontinue its insurance business, a transition that commenced after the year 2000.

The name change was formalized through a certificate issued by Mr. Sydney Custodio Pereira, the Registrar of Companies at the SECP, on June 2, 2025. This decision was made under section 13 of the Companies Act, 2017, allowing the organization to remove "Insurance" from its title and adopt a name that better reflects its revised operational focus.

Standard Insurance Company Limited was originally licensed to conduct insurance business in 1968. However, after over three decades in the insurance sector, the company sought to pivot away from this line of business. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the name change aligns with the company's new strategic direction.

The rebranding to Standard Worldwide Limited marks a significant step in the company’s evolution, emphasizing its commitment to expanding its scope beyond insurance. The development is categorized as a very large or significant move within the designated market category, indicating a transformative shift in the company's operational identity and market strategy.
