Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited has announced the re-composition of the Banking Sector Tradable Index following its review for the period from January 1, 2025, to June 30, 2025. This latest adjustment, confirmed on July 31, 2025, will see The Bank of Punjab replacing Faysal Bank Limited in the index. The changes will take effect on August 15, 2025.
The Oil & Gas Sector Tradable Index remains unaffected by the re-composition exercise. The process was conducted based on criteria detailed in the official Brochure of Oil & Gas and Banking Sector Tradable Indices, accessible on the Pakistan Stock Exchange's website.
The recomposed Banking Sector Tradable Index now includes United Bank Limited, Habib Bank Limited, Meezan Bank Limited, MCB Bank Limited, Bank AL Habib Limited, National Bank of Pakistan, The Bank of Punjab, and Bank Alfalah Limited.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the re-composition is a routine exercise aimed at ensuring the indices accurately represent the current market dynamics. The Oil & Gas Sector Tradable Index continues to include Oil & Gas Development Company Limited, Pakistan Petroleum Limited, and Mari Petroleum Company Limited.
This re-composition is part of the designated market category practices to maintain the integrity and relevance of the tradable indices within the local market.
