MCB Pakistan Opportunity Fund Reports Significant Asset Growth for Fiscal Year 2025

Karachi: The Board of Directors of MCB Investment Management Limited, the management company of the MCB Pakistan Opportunity Fund, has approved the financial results for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025. The announcement was made following a board meeting held at the company's head office on August 4.

The fund's total assets increased to 848.90 million from the previous year's 289.46 million, marking a very large or significant move in asset growth. This increase was driven by substantial rises in bank balances and investments, which stood at 112.05 million and 731.58 million, respectively. The investments alone contributed to a big move compared to 236.23 million in the prior year.

Liabilities also saw a rise, albeit a minor move, reaching 4.48 million from 2.47 million. The payables to the Management Company and other accrued expenses were among the main components of liabilities. Despite the increase, net assets experienced a very large or significant move, reaching 844.42 million, up from 286.99 million.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the number of units issued increased, resulting in an adjustment of the net asset value per unit to 260.38 from 173.18, representing a very large or significant move. The management did not disclose earnings per unit, citing the impracticability of calculating the weighted average number of units.

The fund's financial statements, including the Statement of Assets and Liabilities and the Statement of Profit and Loss, have been prepared for distribution among members of the exchange. The fund's comprehensive performance over the fiscal year highlights its robust financial health and strategic asset management.
