PICIC Insurance Limited Reports No Dividends as Liabilities Rise

Karachi: PICIC Insurance Limited announced its financial results for the half-year ending June 30, 2025, during a board meeting held on August 22. The company declared no cash dividends, bonus shares, or right shares for this period.

The interim financial statement highlights a change in the company’s financial position. The total assets of PICIC Insurance Limited increased to 106.85 million from 105.31 million at the end of 2024. This increase is attributed primarily to the valuation of investments available for sale, which rose from 78.97 million to 80.51 million.

Despite the increase in total assets, the company experienced a decline in equity. The ordinary share capital remained stable at 350.00 million. However, the company’s reserves dropped significantly from 8.13 million to 0.56 million, and accumulated losses grew from 369.10 million to 380.35 million. This resulted in a negative equity position, shifting from a negative 10.97 million to negative 29.79 million.

Liabilities saw an upward trajectory, rising from 116.28 million to 136.63 million. This increase was primarily driven by other creditors and accruals, which surged from 40.91 million to 61.26 million, while outstanding claims remained unchanged at 57.72 million.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the company’s market category was examined, although specific details were not provided in the announcement.

The company did not report any other price-sensitive information. The quarterly report for the half-year ended June 30, 2025, will be transmitted through PUCARS within the stipulated timeframe.
