Pakistan Stock Exchange Suspends Trading in Shares of Three Companies

Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has announced the suspension of trading in the shares of Schon Textiles Limited, Zeal Pak Cement Factory Limited, and Security Leasing Corporation Limited. This decision follows the exchange's earlier notice, PSX/N-786 dated July 23, 2025, highlighting non-compliance issues by the companies.

On September 19, 2025, the PSX outlined the specific regulatory defaults leading to the suspension. Schon Textiles Limited has been cited for multiple infractions, including its failure to hold annual general meetings, submit audited accounts, pay dues to the exchange, and induct ordinary shares into the Central Depository System (CDS). Additionally, the company faces winding-up proceedings initiated by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), with an official liquidator appointed by the court.

Zeal Pak Cement Factory Limited is also under scrutiny for failing to conduct annual general meetings, submit annual audited accounts, and settle its dues to the exchange. Meanwhile, Security Leasing Corporation Limited has suspended its principal business operations and received an adverse opinion in its independent auditor's report. The SECP has also canceled its leasing license and ordered winding-up proceedings against the company.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), trading in the shares of these companies will remain suspended until the outlined issues are resolved or for an additional period of 60 days starting from September 22, 2025. This action is taken under the authority granted to the exchange by Sub-Section (7) of Section 19 of the Securities Act, 2015, alongside Clause 5.11 of the PSX Regulations.

The suspension underscores the regulatory measures enforced by the PSX to ensure compliance and accountability within the designated market category.
