Tri-Star Mutual Fund Limited Reports Decline in Annual Profits Amid Market Fluctuations

Karachi: Tri-Star Mutual Fund Limited has announced its financial results for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025, revealing a decline in profits compared to the previous year. The mutual fund reported a total comprehensive income of Rs. 19.53 million, a notable decrease from the Rs. 30.34 million recorded in 2024.

The company’s audited financial statements, presented in its 33rd Annual Report, indicate that the fund generated an income from operations amounting to Rs. 25.08 million, which was slightly lower than the Rs. 26.95 million achieved in the previous year. Operating expenses also saw an increase, reaching Rs. 3.05 million compared to Rs. 2.36 million in 2024. Consequently, the profit after taxation stood at Rs. 21.62 million, down from Rs. 24.17 million the prior year.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the mutual fund’s financial performance was further impacted by a Rs. 2.09 million loss in other comprehensive income, contrasting with a gain of Rs. 6.17 million in 2024. This contributed to the overall reduction in the fund’s total comprehensive income for the year.

The board of directors of Tri-Star Mutual Fund Limited has recommended no dividend payout for the financial year ended June 30, 2025. The decision reflects the need to maintain financial stability amid fluctuating market conditions.

The fund’s statement of profit or loss highlighted a profit before taxation of Rs. 21.98 million, with taxation expenses amounting to Rs. 0.41 million. The fund’s net assets increased to Rs. 86.34 million from Rs. 71.86 million in 2024, while the net asset value per certificate rose to Rs. 17.27 from Rs. 14.37 in the previous year.

The mutual fund is scheduled to hold its Thirty Third Annual General Meeting on October 28, 2025, in Karachi. Shareholders have the option to participate via video conference, with registration details provided in the notice of meeting. The meeting will include the adoption of the audited accounts, appointment of auditors, and other business matters.

The company’s financial statements adhere to the International Accounting Standards applicable in Pakistan. The directors affirm that there have been no significant doubts about the fund’s ability to continue as a going concern, and no material departures from corporate governance practices were reported.
