The financial summary of MPL for the year 2025 portrays a challenging period for the company. The net sales declined by 20% to Rs. 5.28 billion compared to the previous year’s Rs. 6.64 billion. Financial charges were reduced to Rs. 183.07 million, indicating a 48% decline. However, the overall financial position remained grim with a reported loss before taxation of Rs. 533.37 million and a loss after taxation amounting to Rs. 599.67 million, reflecting a very large or significant move.
The balance sheet reflects a contraction in total assets, which decreased by 30% to Rs. 5.02 billion from Rs. 7.16 billion in the previous year. Property, plant, and equipment saw a notable decrease of 47% to Rs. 2.36 billion. Current assets also witnessed a decline, totaling Rs. 2.52 billion, down by 7% from the prior year. The equity and liabilities composition shows a decrease in share capital and reserves by 23%, amounting to Rs. 2.27 billion, while non-current liabilities fell significantly by 75% to Rs. 383.62 million.
