Karachi: Trading in the Government of Pakistan Ijarah Sukuk (GIS) securities is scheduled to resume on November 10, 2025, as per the latest announcement. This follows a temporary suspension of trading, which was initially announced in a notice dated October 28, 2025, due to rental payment issues. The resumption will include trading of 3-Year and 5-Year Fixed Rental Rate (FRR) and 5-Year and 10-Year Variable Rental Rate (VRR) GIS, all issued on May 10, 2024.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the trading will proceed under revised profit rates for the involved securities. The 3-Year Variable Rental Rate (VRR) security, maturing on May 10, 2027, will now have a net profit rate of 10.9342%, a minor move from its previously applicable rate of 11.9679%. Meanwhile, the 5-Year Variable Rental Rate (VRR) security, maturing on May 10, 2029, is set to trade at a newly adjusted net profit rate of 10.6552%, marking a moderate move from the former rate of 12.2489%.
These adjustments align with the latest 6-month weighted average yield, as of October 29, 2025, which stands at 10.9352%. The revised rates will remain in effect until May 10, 2026, and market participants are advised to take note of these changes when engaging in trading activities from the designated date.
