Atlas Insurance Ltd. Reports Robust Financial Performance Amid Increased Premiums

Karachi: Atlas Insurance Ltd. held a corporate briefing session on November 27, 2025, to discuss its financial results for the nine months ending September 30, 2025. The briefing revealed significant developments in the company's financial metrics compared to the same period in 2024.

The net insurance premium for Atlas Insurance Ltd. witnessed a substantial increase, rising to 2.54 billion rupees from 2.09 billion rupees, marking a variance of 447.77 million rupees. This growth in premium is attributed to increases across various segments, with the marine insurance premium showing a very large or significant move of 29%, while the miscellaneous category experienced a very large or significant move of 57%. The total net premium increase was classified as a very large or significant move at 21%.

Net insurance claim expenses also saw marked changes, with a total increase to 775.49 million rupees from 560.31 million rupees, reflecting a variance of 1,335.80 million rupees. The fire insurance segment reported a very large or significant move of 355% in net claims. Similarly, the marine and motor segments recorded very large or significant moves of 52% and 56%, respectively.

Investment income for the period rose to 1.18 billion rupees from 1.09 billion rupees, contributing an additional 94.08 million rupees. Notably, the capital gain component of investment income surged by a very large or significant move of 41%, while dividend and interest income categories saw declines of 6% and 16%, respectively.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Atlas Insurance Ltd.'s results of operating activities reached 2.08 billion rupees, up from 2.04 billion rupees, indicating a variance of 38.38 million rupees. This was despite a minor move in finance costs, which increased slightly to 13.92 million rupees from 8.78 million rupees.

The company's profit before tax for the period was reported at 2.16 billion rupees, a rise from 2.13 billion rupees, with a corresponding increase in income tax expense to 856.21 million rupees from 842.43 million rupees. Consequently, the profit after tax for the period stood at 1.30 billion rupees, compared to 1.29 billion rupees in the previous year, with a minor move increase of 10.18 million rupees.

These results underscore Atlas Insurance Ltd.'s robust financial health and strategic positioning within the market, particularly in its ability to augment premium income across key insurance segments.
