Recovered Share Certificates in Karachi Prompt Resumption of Trading

Karachi: In a notable update for shareholders, several share certificates previously reported as lost have been rediscovered, allowing for the resumption of normal trading activities. According to notices issued by the companies involved, certificates from Pakistan Petroleum Limited, Engro Powergen Qadirpur Limited, and Engro Fertilizers Limited have been found.

The notices, dated December 5, 2025, confirmed that the certificates reported lost by individuals in Karachi have been located. Specifically, Pakistan Petroleum Limited informed that certificates belonging to Mr. Muhammad Amir Jamil, with folio number J002424, have been recovered. The distinctive numbers for these certificates range from 1972455580 to 1972455794, covering a total of 215 shares.

Similarly, Engro Powergen Qadirpur Limited announced the recovery of certificates for Mr. Muhammad Moghees Bilwani, registered under folio number 26557. The distinctive numbers span from 95843917 to 95844416, encompassing 500 shares.

Engro Fertilizers Limited also reported the retrieval of certificates for Mr. Muhammad Sohaib Shaikh. These certificates, associated with folio number 00004246, include distinctive numbers from 1281520501 to 1281521000, representing 500 shares.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), these developments are crucial for shareholders who had previously been unable to engage in trading due to the lost certificates. The reinstatement of these certificates is expected to restore regular trading activities for the affected parties.

Members of the exchange have been advised to proceed with transactions involving these shares as usual, now that the certificates have been accounted for.
