Pakistan’s Stock Exchange Prepares for 31st Auction of GoP Ijarah Sukuk


Karachi: Participants in Pakistan’s financial markets are gearing up for the 31st auction of the Government of Pakistan (GoP) Ijarah Sukuk, scheduled for February 6, 2026. The auction, which includes the Green Sukuk, will be conducted through the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) Auction System.



In accordance with PSX Notice #PSX/N-140 dated January 30, 2026, all Broker Clearing Members (BCMs), Non-Broker Clearing Members (NBCMs), and Professional Clearing Members (PCMs) of the National Clearing Company of Pakistan Limited (NCCPL) are eligible to participate in this auction. These entities can participate on behalf of their proprietary accounts, investors, and funds under their management.



The auction will be conducted on February 6, 2026, between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., with settlement slated for February 9, 2026. Participants are instructed to use their existing credentials, including User ID, Password, and PIN Code, from the previous auction held on January 21, 2026, for investor mapping, cash assignment, and bidding.



According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the instruments being auctioned include a 1-Year Fixed Rate GIS Discounted Fresh Issue and re-openings of 3-Year, 5-Year Fixed Rental Rate GIS (FRR), 10-Year Fixed Rate GIS-Zero Coupon (FRZ), and 10-Year Variable Rental Rate GIS (VRR). The target amount for each of these instruments is set at PKR 50 billion. The auction system is integrated with the Central Depository Company (CDC) for validation of investor details, ensuring a smooth transaction process.



Participants must meet specific advance cash requirements, with BCMs, CDC IAS, and PCMs needing to deposit advance cash one day before the auction. NBCMs, including banks or Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) and mutual funds, have separate requirements, such as standing instructions or irrevocable undertakings from trustees.



The auction is a significant event for Pakistan’s financial markets, offering investment opportunities to various entities, including Roshan Digital Account holders through CDC Investor Account Services. The process is designed to ensure seamless participation and compliance with the regulatory framework, providing a structured environment for investors.
