Securities Brokers Face Deadlines for Liquid Capital Statement Submissions

Karachi: Securities Brokers in Pakistan are under regulatory pressure to comply with the mandatory submission of their Liquid Capital (LC) Statements, as specified in the Securities Brokers (Licensing and Operations) Regulations, 2016. This requirement comes as part of a broader effort to ensure transparency and accountability within the financial sector.

According to the updated regulations dated February 10, 2026, Securities Brokers whose financial year concludes on June 30 must submit their reviewed half-yearly LC statements for the period ending December 31, 2025. These submissions, reviewed by statutory auditors, are required by March 16, 2026. Conversely, brokers with a financial year ending on December 31 are obligated to disclose their LC calculations within their annual audited financial statements, due to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) by April 30, 2026.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), any discrepancies between the reviewed or audited LC statements and the relevant monthly LC statements must be addressed. Securities Brokers are required to provide explanations for such differences via the report.rad(&,psx.com.pk.

It is important to note that these submission requirements do not apply to Securities Brokers that have fully transitioned to the Trading Only category. The regulations underscore the importance of maintaining financial integrity within the designated market category while providing a clear timeline for compliance.
