Jubilee Life Insurance Sees Decline in Quarterly Profit Amid Investment Losses

Karachi: Jubilee Life Insurance Company Limited reported a decline in its profit for the quarter ending March 31, 2026, as indicated by their latest financial results. The company’s Board of Directors announced the financial figures during their meeting held on April 28, 2026, at their head office in Karachi.

The insurance firm recorded a profit after tax of 311.12 million rupees for the quarter, a decrease from 393.55 million rupees in the same period last year. Earnings per share also fell to 3.10 rupees from 3.92 rupees. This performance is attributed to significant losses in investment income and financial assets, despite a rise in premium revenue.

The company’s revenue from premiums and contributions stood at 17,238.27 million rupees, up from 15,449.35 million rupees last year. However, the net fair value loss on financial assets at fair value through profit or loss reached 10,092.44 million rupees, a substantial increase from 1,697.14 million rupees, impacting the overall financial results.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Jubilee Life Insurance’s investment income saw a decline, registering at 5,618.96 million rupees compared to 6,726.86 million rupees in the previous year. The net realised fair value gain on financial assets was recorded at 150.62 million rupees, contrasting with a loss of 22.66 million rupees last year.

In terms of expenses, the company saw a moderate move in marketing and administration costs, which totaled 1,940.33 million rupees, up from 1,719.66 million rupees. Acquisition expenses also saw an increase, reaching 2,000.66 million rupees compared to 1,837.87 million rupees in the previous period.

The statement of cash flows highlighted a cash inflow from investing activities amounting to 4,739.62 million rupees, while the total cash outflow from all operating activities was 4,121.68 million rupees. The cash and cash equivalents at the end of the period were 5,367.94 million rupees, improving from 3,126.02 million rupees at the end of the same quarter last year.

Jubilee Life Insurance did not declare any cash, bonus, or right shares dividends for the quarter ending March 31, 2026, maintaining a consistent position with no price-sensitive information disclosed. The company remains listed under the insurance category on the Pakistan Stock Exchange.
