Trading Terminals of Akhai Securities Restored Following Sindh High Court Order

Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has reinstated the trading terminals of Akhai Securities (Private) Limited following a directive from the High Court of Sindh, Karachi. The decision to restore operations was made in light of an order issued by the court, which suspended the enforcement actions previously implemented by the PSX.

In a development that marks a significant shift, the Honorable High Court of Sindh intervened by suspending the enforcement orders dated February 04, 2026, and June 10, 2026, until the next hearing. This legal move effectively compels the PSX to revoke its earlier suspension of Akhai Securities’ trading terminals, which had been imposed due to substantial violations of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) and PSX regulations.

The suspension, initially stated in PSX Notice No. N-172 dated February 06, 2026, came after a series of significant violations were detected during an inspection, leading to the enforcement of PSX Regulation 20.5.2 (g). However, the current restoration is mandated by the judicial order, underscoring the legal complexities entwined with regulatory compliance and enforcement.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the latest court ruling has temporarily halted the PSX’s enforcement measures against Akhai Securities. This development allows the firm to resume its trading activities until further legal proceedings determine the ultimate outcome.

The designated market category impacted by this decision includes participants and stakeholders of Akhai Securities, as they navigate the implications of the court’s suspension order. The ongoing legal proceedings will be closely monitored by market participants as they await the court’s next course of action in this matter.
