Karachi: Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has announced the successful commencement of production from the Bobi Deep-1 well in the Bobi and Dhamraki Mining Lease, District Sanghar, Sindh, as of June 29, 2026. The well is producing 2,000 barrels of oil per day, marking a significant milestone for the company.
The development follows an earlier disclosure on June 03, 2026, concerning the oil discovery at Bobi Deep-1 in the Massive Sand of the Lower Goru Formation. OGDCL, serving as the operator with a full 100% working interest, has fast-tracked the project with the completion of a 4-inch, 1.5 km flowline connecting the well site to the Bobi Plant. This expedited approach has enabled early production from the discovery, aligning with the company's strategy for accelerated monetization.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the initiation of production from Bobi Deep-1 is part of OGDCL's broader efforts to bolster domestic energy supplies and reduce reliance on imports. The company leverages indigenous capabilities to advance hydrocarbon resource monetization, contributing to the energy sector's stability and growth.
The submission of this information complies with Section 96 of the Securities Act, 2015, and Clause 5.6.1(a) of the PSX Regulations for dissemination among stakeholders, highlighting OGDCL's commitment to regulatory transparency and operational efficiency in the Oil & Gas sector.
