Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) announced on July 22, 2026, that trading in the shares of five companies will remain suspended due to their failure to comply with regulatory requirements. This decision affects Abson Industries Ltd., English Leasing Ltd., Sadoon Textile Industries Ltd., Hakkim Textile Mills Ltd., and Suraj Ghee Industries Ltd.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), these companies have not addressed the causes for their suspension, which include failing to hold Annual General Meetings (AGMs), not submitting annual audited accounts, and non-payment of dues to the Exchange. Additionally, issues such as the non-induction of ordinary shares into the Central Depository System (CDS) and ongoing winding-up petitions have further complicated their standing.
Abson Industries Ltd. is currently under the appointment of an official liquidator by court order due to a winding-up petition filed by creditors. English Leasing Ltd. faces similar challenges with a winding-up petition filed by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP). Sadoon Textile Industries Ltd. has been issued a winding-up order by the SECP, while both Hakkim Textile Mills Ltd. and Suraj Ghee Industries Ltd. are dealing with court petitions filed by the SECP and creditors.
The PSX's decision to maintain the suspension was enacted under the powers granted by Sub-Section (7) of Section 19 of the Securities Act, 2015, and clause 5.11 of the PSX Regulations. Trading will remain halted until the companies rectify the causes of suspension or for an additional period of 60 days effective July 23, 2026.
