PESHAWAR: The shareholders of Khyber Tobacco Company Limited have elected a new board of directors during an Extraordinary General Meeting (EOGM) held on July 23, 2026. This election was conducted in compliance with Section 159 of the Companies Act, 2017, and Clause 5.6.9 of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) Rule Book.
The newly elected directors, who will serve a three-year term starting from July 23, 2026, include a mix of executive, non-executive, and independent directors. Mrs. Samera Irfan has been appointed as an Executive Director and Female Director. Barrister Shahzad Javed Panni joins the board as an Independent Director, while Mr. Khalil Ur Rehman and Mr. Zia Ur Rehman will serve as Non-Executive Directors. Mr. Rahat Ullah has been elected as another Executive Director, with Mr. Pir Waris Shah also appointed as a Non-Executive Director. Additionally, Mrs. Sonia Farooq has been selected as an Independent and Female Director.
The appointments were made following the guidelines established by the Companies Act, 2017, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), these appointments aim to bring diverse expertise and governance to the company’s boardroom, reflecting the evolving landscape of corporate oversight.
